How will my fundraising support Youngcare?

Thousands of young Australians with disabilities are stuck in aged care simply because they have no other options. Consider this; you or someone you love has an accident that results in physical disability. What does your life look like now? Where would you live? Who would take care of you?

For almost two decades Youngcare has been creating choice, independence and dignity for young people with disability by building homes that cater to their care needs and enable them to live the young lives they deserve.

But we need your help. SIGN UP to help us create a future where every young person has the freedom and choice to live the lives we all deserve.

CREATE CHANGE FOR PEOPLE LIKE HAYDEN

After an acquired spinal injury left Hayden (20) paralysed from the chest down, he now experiences a wide array of complications and support needs, including the inability to control his body temperature.

“For me, part of my injury means my body doesn’t regulate temperature properly, so I’m at a high risk of fevers.”

When Hayden’s parents renovated their home to create an accessible space for his newly acquired injury, they never imagined the significant funding required to ensure Hayden can live a healthy, young life.

One vital item for their newly renovated home was an air conditioner, which Youngcare was able to fund through our Grants Program. This simple addition to Hayden’s home truly changed his quality of life. Hayden said;

“Air-conditioning might be seen as a luxury, but for me it is a necessity. Because of Youngcare I was able to come home from the hospital into my own home and live comfortably here.”

You can make this a reality for more young people with disabilities. So please, give the sweetest gift of all and SIGN UP for the #YOURCAKE Challenge today!
